World Wide Web

The World Wide Web (WWW) is a part of the internet. It is governed by it's own protocols, the most important of which is HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol). The web is accessed by a Browser, and consists of web pages linked together using Hyperlinks. These hyperlinks use a common format called a URL (Uniform Resource Locator), which tells the browser what protocol to use (usually http:// or https://), what address or domain to find (www.cliffvalley.org), and the document to find on that domain (/2020-21-calendar/). Web pages are just text files written in a language called HTML (HyperText Markup Language). You can often see the HTML code in your browser by pressing Control + Shift + I.
