World Wide Web

The World Wide Web (WWW) is a part of the internet. It is governed by it's own protocols, the most important of which is HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol). HTTP defines how websites are sent across the internet. The web is accessed by a Browser, and consists of web pages linked together using Hyperlinks. These hyperlinks use a common format called a URL (Uniform Resource Locator), which tells the browser what protocol to use (usually http:// or https://), what address or domain to find (www.cliffvalley.org), and the document to find on that domain (/2020-21-calendar/). Web pages are just text files written in a language called HTML (HyperText Markup Language). You can often see the HTML code in your browser by pressing Control + Shift + I.
