Ports

Your computer connects to many devices, such as inputs, outputs, and storage devices, through "ports," or connectors on your device. You are probably familiar with many of these, such as USB. However, these change pretty quickly! It's a good idea to make sure you know what every port on your computer is, and what it's for.

The most important ports currently are VGA, HDMI, USB, Micro USB, and USB-C.

VGA and HDMI are the two most common video ports. You need them to connect a monitor or projector. HDMI can transmit sound as well as video.

USB connectors come in so many forms. You should know these three.
