Motherboard

The motherboard is the part of the computer that attaches everything together. It provides a place to put everything as well as connectors to move information from one component to another.

Power

All computers have some sort of power supply to send electricity to the motherboard, CPU, storage devices, fans, and other components.

Cooling

One of the biggest problems computers face is heat. CPUs in particular produce a lot of heat, and they can be destroyed if the temperature gets too hot. That's why CPUs are almost always covered with a heatsink and fan that draw heat away. Some computers have copper bars or even tubes of liquid to move heat away more quickly. Almost all computers will have multiple fans as well.
